Berkley Gully Warpig Crankbait

Berkley Gully Warpig Crankbait
The Good: Sleek and great looking crankbait. The Bad: It is somewhat on the pricey side. Overall: The Berkley Gully Warpig Crankbait is a quality, sleek looking crankbait that’ worth spending the extra money.

The first thing to notice about Berkley Warpig is that it’s a hard and very sturdy crankbait that is quality built. The body is very sleek looking. It has a narrow shaped top at the point where the crankbait attaches to the line. The top of the crankbait has a little rough pattern on top which feels good to the touch. The colors that the crankbait comes in are great. The one pictured here is the “Gully” which is painted dark green at the top and fades into a nicely looking orange body and blue patterns painted on the face. The eyes are realistic looking. They aren’t painted on like other crankbaits.

One distinctive feature of this crankbait is the flat looking face. It’s designed that way so the crankbait can bounce off rocks, trees and other obstacles better. The Warpig did get some snags here and there when fishing with it, but it is slightly better than other crankbaits.

The swimming action of this crankbait is great. When you retrieve it the Warpig is slightly stable at the front and the back of the crankbait wiggles back and forth. This makes for a very attractive movement for fish and produces strikes. The crankbait also has rattle inside which feels nice and heavy. They produce a distinctive sound that you can hear once the crankbait is about five feet away from you in the water.

The most simplest and most effective way to use the Berkley Gully Warpig crankbait is a simple cast and retrieve. The best is a medium to fast retrieve because it produces the best swimming action. When fishing try to look for schools of baitfish and cast the lure alongside it. The Warpig has a very nice weight to it and it will cast far. You can cast past or along the school and then do a fast retrieve. You will surely get a strike if there are any Bass or other fish lurking around.

One downside to this crankbait is its price. It runs in the price range of $8 to $15 dollars. Although this isn’t the worst, if compared to other crankbaits, it’s still a little bit pricey. However, the quality build, sleek look and great performance makes this crankbait worth the money.
