I recently purchased this Perch looking Lipless Crankbait manufactured by Moose Baits, to my tackle collection and wanted to share my first impressions. Although not the best crankbait I’ve ever purchased, this one does have some nice features to it.
The colors and the overall look of this crankbait is pretty cool. It's dark green on top, yellow/green in the middle with dark stripes, and a white belly. It's supposed to be a perch and I think it does a pretty good job at looking like one. The body also has this neat diamond pattern all over it, which adds some roughness that looks kinda nice. The head, especially near the eyes, also has raised patterns that make it look interesting. One thing I don't like much is that the body is very squared. It makes it look cheap. When you touch it, the plastic feels a bit cheap too, mainly because of those squared edges.
The rattles inside are pretty good. They're not too loud, and they have this deeper sound to them. The hooks are also very good and sharp. They are firmly mounted so there isn’t any chance of them breaking.
In the end this Moose Baits Perch Lipless Crankbait is a bit of a mixed bag. I kinda like the look of this crankbait. The body's got some cool colors and patterns. The materials feel a bit cheap and the squared shape isn’t too attractive. On the bright side, the rattles make a nice sound and the hooks seem reliable. So, if you're okay with a bit of quirkiness you can give this decent looking crankbait a shot.
